PHOENIX -- A car crashed into a Phoenix apartment where a family was sleeping Friday morning.
Police said the 35-year-old male driver had a medical emergency and accelerated through the intersection near 27th Street and Greenway Road at approximately 8 a.m.
The Honda Civic smashed through a block wall fence and into the side of an apartment building.
A woman and two children were sleeping when the car crashed into their apartment. They were not injured.
The driver and two kids who were in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The apartment building was evacuated due to structural damage.
