UPDATE: Company completes roofing jobPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A Phoenix woman says her roof is finally finished with help from 3 On Your Side.
This was a huge mess to figure out because we're talking about a roofing salesman who apparently worked for two different companies at the same time. As a result, one customer fell through the cracks.
"Well it got re-done," Blanca Gutierrez said. "It's very nice, very nice."
Gutierrez is now breathing a sigh of relief when she looks at her roof, but that wasn't the case just a week ago when we told you about her problem.
"Very upset, taken advantage of very stupid," she said. "I feel humiliation."
Gutierrez was upset after she signed a contract with a roofing salesman named Shannon Coultas.
Gutierrez gave Coultas $7,000 in advance for the roofing job but after one day of work, Coultas disappeared.
"I gave him a call, I gave him a call, I gave him a call, nothing," Gutierrez said.
The name on the contract was Littleton Roofing, but it was marked out by Coultas and he scribbled in I Deal Roofing instead, and I Deal Roofing is who Gutierrez made her check out to.
So, 3 On Your Side called Littlelton Roofing, which claimed they fired Coultas, were never paid for Gutierrez's job and certainly not responsible for it.
So, we turned to I Deal Roofing, who also employed Coultas. The owner of I Deal acknowledged depositing Gutierrez's check but was unaware Coultas had ran off and abandoned Gutierrez's job.
After talking to 3 On Your Side, I Deal Roofing immediately returned to Gutierrez's home and completed her roof.
"I'm very pleased and like I said they were very quick on it, it took them three days total," she said.
Gutierrez said she's glad this ordeal is over and glad her roof is finally finished. She's also glad 3 On Your Side got to the bottom of this messy ordeal.
I appreciate I Deal Roofing finishing the roof and getting it done in just three days. As for Coultas, he's doing time in Illinois on a drug charge.
