Oro Valley teacher accused of sexual misconductPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A high school teacher in southern Arizona has been arrested on suspicion of sexual misconduct with two students.
Oro Valley police say 33-year-old Melissa Ann Dalton was booked Monday into Pima County jail.
She's being held on four counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Dalton is an art teacher at Ironwood Ridge High School in Oro Valley, which is near Tucson.
School resource officers were notified of allegations against Dalton and the case was handed over to the police department's Criminal Investigations Unit.
Police say the students and Dalton were interviewed and it was determined that probable cause existed to charge the teacher.
The gender of the two students involved hasn't been disclosed.
Police say they didn't immediately know whether Dalton had a lawyer yet for her case.
