Country music phenom Casey Weston performs national anthem at last Suns game

PHOENIX -- You might know her as one of the eight finalists in the inaugural season for TV sensation "The Voice" last year. Casey Weston performed the national anthem at the last Suns game of the season Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old singer/songwriter sat down with 3TV's Kaley O'Kelley early Thursday morning to chat about her career and her stint on "The Voice." She actually stays in touch with her friend and coach, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine.

"It brought my music to so many people," she said of the show. "It was an amazing thing for me."

Originally from Naples, Fla., Weston now lives in Nashville. She started performing in 2006, singing both original songs and covers that "spoke to her."

Although she's an experienced performer, Weston said she still gets nervous singing in front of a live crowd.

"If you care, then you'll be nervous because you want to do a good job," she explained. "You always want that. So, when you stop caring, that's the problem."

Weston said she'll never stop caring.

Weston's first album, "Casey Weston," is available both on her website, CaseyWeston.com, and on iTunes.
