Maricopa police search for female bank robber

MARICOPA, Ariz. -- The Maricopa Police Department is seeking information from the public about a bank robbery Tuesday morning.

The female suspect entered the Great Western Bank near John Wayne Parkway and Garvey Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. Police said she displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect fled the bank in a white or gray 2006-2007 Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by an unknown second suspect.

The suspect is described as a black female in her mid-20s, approximately 5 feet to 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 100 to 120 pounds with a cornrow-style hairdo.

She was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with orange lettering and an orange/red bill. She also had on dark wrap sunglasses, a red long-sleeve shirt, baggy blue gym shorts and white shoes.
