Two students treated after apparent drug overdose

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- At least two students at Challenger Middle School in Glendale are getting medical attention after reportedly smoking a synthetic drug known as Spice.

That is according to Officer Tracey Breeden with the Glendale Police Department. The incident is being characterized as an overdose.

One of those students, a female, was transported by ambulance from the school to a nearby hospital.

3TV helicopter pilot, Tammy Rose, was hearing from officials with the Glendale Fire Department that the students are expected be okay but are being treated as a precaution.

The school is at 69th Avenue and Maryland.
