PHOENIX -- A Phoenix charter school was evacuated for a short time Monday morning after a swarm of bees was found in the attic of a building.

A beekeeper arrived at Hearn Academy near Seventh Avenue and Bell Road at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Capt. Scott McDonald with the Phoenix Fire Department said some bees were found between the attic and the drop ceiling in one of the classrooms.

The students were taken outside for a time then moved back inside a room away from the bees.

McDonald said no students were stung and the beekeeper handled the bee problem.
