Chandler and Desert Vista play at Chase Field

PHOENIX -- What an experience for these high school players, getting what may be their only shot to play in a professional ballpark and these guys took advantage.

Down a run to Chandler in the bottom of the first inning, Desert Vista got their offense going with a triple off the bat of Tyler Viza, bringing in two runs.

The Thunder would keep the pressure on as Tyler Adams sends a fly ball to left, which was an easy out, but it would be deep enough to bring Viza home.

This game would not be without some pretty web gemes. Austin Hicks was able to show off his wheels and rob Chandler's Matt Ward of the base hit. Another defensive highlight from the game came when Chandler pitcher Brain Hudson caught Luke Leftwitch sleeping at first and sent him back to the dugout.

The game was controlled by the Thunder and pitcher Hunter Rodriguez, only allowing two runs off four hits.

With the win, Desert Vista got to .500 on the season with a 13-13 record.

However, win or lose it was the experience the young athletes enjoyed the most.
