PEORIA, Ariz. -- The intersection of 95th and Olive avenues was shut down for several hours on Friday after an SUV and motorcycle collided at around 7:30 a.m.

According to Peoria police, the rider of the motorcycle is believed to have run a red light and collided with the SUV as it was turning left from westbound Olive Avenue to southbound 95th Avenue.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Dean Berlinger, 30, of Surprise.

The SUV driver was not injured.

Moments after the SUV and the motorcyclist collided, another accident happened about 10 feet away. Three vehicles got into a minor fender-bender. In the middle was a pregnant woman who was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The driver of the SUV was not cited.

Berlinger is survived by a wife and two children.
