SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Surprise police are searching for a man they believe stole a woman car at gunpoint Thursday morning then robbed a Chase Bank in Sun City Grand.

Surveillance cameras show the suspect at the Chase Bank near Sunrise and Clearview boulevards around 11 a.m. Thursday.

According to the victims, the suspect displayed a handgun and ordered the patrons and staff to the floor while demanding money from the teller.

Witnesses inside the bank described the suspect as a Hispanic male with medium-length brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a black ski mask, black long-sleeve shirt and jeans.

After receiving money, the suspect fled from the bank with the cash in a silver-colored Hyundai. Additional witnesses outside the bank described the driver of the vehicle as having a short dark-colored beard.

Investigators believe this same man stole a woman's car in the OfficeMax parking lot near Bell Road and Grand Avenue about 40 minutes earlier.

According to Surprise police Sgt. Norm Owens, the suspect displayed a handgun and told the woman he did not want to hurt her but needed her vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a silver Hyundai with Arizona plate 476-GNE.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds.
