PHOENIX -- Investigators say it appears a red-light runner caused a serious crash Sunday in North Phoenix.

It happened on Cactus Road at the Interstate 17 off ramp. Police at the scene tell 3TV a man driving a Chrysler ran a red light and smashed into a Mustang.

A 21-year-old woman in the sports car was trapped. She sustained a serious head wound and was rushed to a nearby hospital along with two others inside the Mustang.

Police don't believe alcohol was a factor, however the driver of the Chrysler did not produce valid proof of insurance.
