Woman shot several times at Phoenix apartment complexPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Police are trying to determine who shot a Phoenix woman several times early Friday morning, and they need your help to do it.
Police were called out to Willow Springs Apartments at 27th Avenue and Indian School Road just before 2 a.m.
When they arrived on the scene, they found a badly wounded black woman in her 30s inside a first-floor corner unit. She had been shot several times and was in serious condition when she was rushed to a local hospital.
All police know about the victim right now is that she lived with a roommate -- another woman. They moved into Willow Springs about a year ago.
Detectives spoke with that roommate, but investigators said she is not a suspect or a person of interest in the case.
Right now, police have very little to go on.
"We don't have the information on the suspect," said Lt. Dave Moore of the Phoenix Police Department. "We are searching for someone who can provide us that information. We aren't searching for any particular person."
Detectives are trying to piece together what happened in the minutes and hours leading up to the shooting and would like to know if there are any witnesses to the incident.
