PHOENIX -- A dry but windy storm will push through Arizona Thursday.
The cold front is prompting a red flag warning and wind advisory for the high country where southwesterly winds of 30 to 40 miles an hour are expected. Gusts of up to 50 miles an hour are possible.
In the Valley, look for 10- to 20-mph winds, peaking during the afternoon and evening hours. High clouds will stream into the state with this system, bringing a partly sunny day across Arizona.
Temperatures will be close to or warmer than yesterday, with the Valley forecast to top out near 87 degrees this afternoon.
Friday will be a bit cooler and calmer with Valley highs peaking only near 80 degrees.
Mostly sunny skies will return and continue through the weekend, but temperatures will quickly rebound.
Look for a temperatures in the upper 80s Saturday and low 90s Sunday. Morning temperatures on Easter Sunday should linger in the 50s and 60s.
