How to shop your closet for fresh looksPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Valley resident Alexis Ryon was featured in the February issue of InStyle magazine after she transformed the clothes in her closet into nearly 30 fresh outfits for winter and then sent the magazine pictures of what she did.
Ryon was inspired by a feature she had seen in InStyle and said had so much fun coming up with winter outfits that she decided to update her closet for spring and summer, too.
Ryon, who is actually a pharmacist. showed Kaley O'Kelly exactly how she did it, saying it was "surprisingly easy."
"You just pull from the magazines," she said. "Literally rip out the things you like and make a fashion board. ... We don't need to create new looks. Just steal what they've got!
"Go in your closet and find things that are similar," she continued. Once you've done that, you can make a list of what you need to add to your wardrobe.
Ryon went on to explain that mixing and matching is key.
"You can wear the same thing again, over and over, with something different and it's going to look completely different," she said.
Finally, Ryon suggested taking pictures of what you have in your closet so you know what you have and donating the clothes you do not wear.
