PHOENIX (AP) -- The job of Phoenix police chief has been narrowed down to four candidates.

The finalists include a former police chief in San Jose, Calif., an assistant chief for Dallas police and two local candidates.

Phoenix police's assistant chief Kevin Robinson and acting Chief Joe Yahner also are in the running.

The four have been narrowed down from seven semifinalists who met last week with community panels and a public meet-and-greet.

City management now will interview the four finalists in the next two weeks.
