Hundreds of items up for bid at police auction

PHOENIX -- Hundreds of stolen and confiscated items collected by authorities will be up for bid at this weekend's Phoenix police auction.

Items including jewelry, tools, furniture, electronics and vehicles will be auctioned off Saturday at Auction Systems.

"Now that the merchandise has ended up in our warehouse, it's perfectly legal to sell back to the general public," said Jason Stancill with Auction Systems. "So please don't be alarmed when you come down thinking you may re-buy a piece of stolen merchandise. It doesn't work that way."

Appraised items start at 25 percent of their value. Other items start at just $10.

Bid online or in person.

Interested bidders can go to the facility to preview everything that's up for grabs. Preview hours are 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, as well as 8 a.m.-9 a.m. Saturday.

The auction starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at 951 W. Watkins St. in Phoenix.
