Phoenix weather could bring rain for Valentine's DayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- After hitting 80 degrees Friday and 81 Saturday, it looks like winter may make a return to Arizona.
A winter storm moving down the coast of California is forecast to move into Arizona overnight and into tomorrow.
Today, look for breezy conditions in the Valley and a high of about 68 under partly sunny skies. Winds will be stronger in the high country this afternoon, with snow showers possibly later today and tonight.
Tomorrow, snow becomes likely, with four to five inches of accumulation likely in Flagstaff as snow levels come down to 4,000 feet. Higher elevations, especially on the Eastern Rim, could see up to a foot of snow.
Valley rain chances are up to about 50 percent, with 0.25 to 0.5 inch of rain possible during the day Tuesday.
The storm brings plenty of cold air, too. Afternoon temperatures in the Valley this Valentine's Day will struggle to reach 60 degrees, and overnight lows Tuesday night into Wednesday morning should dip into the 30s.
