MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help finding a man who might intend to harm himself.

According to MCSO Officer Christopher Hegstrom, Steven Robert Furtyo was last seen at his place of work Sunday afternoon. He reportedly left at about noon, telling his co-workers he was meeting his girlfriend for lunch.

A couple of hours later, Furtyo, 27, reportedly pasted a message to his family and friends on Facebook, saying he was going to hurt himself.

Hegstrom said officers found evidence of his intentions at his home. Investigators would not say exactly what that evidence was, but they did say they found his one and only cell phone at his home.

He has not been seen since he left work.

Furtyo is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 210 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. His hair is spiked and he has a goatee. He was last seen wearing gray dress pants, a white long-sleeve dress shirt and black penny loafers.

Furtyo drives a black 2009 Chevy Colorado crew-cab pickup truck with the Arizona license plate ARP4978. There might be a dog collar hanging from the rear-view mirror.

If you have any information about Furtyo or his whereabouts, please call MCSO at 602-876-1011.
