Valley man suffered through Super Bowl to raise moneyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- While just about everybody is enjoying Super Bowl 46, Max McQueen, isn't. In fact, he hates football.
A friend of his decided those two things were a perfection combination for a fundraiser. For $10 a minute, McQueen will sit through the football game. McQueen said he's already raised two hours.
All the money will go to pay off a new van. McQueen works for Lura Turner Homes, a non-profit company where he drives adults with disabilities around town. He said it gives them a chance at a normal life.
Because of state budget cuts, a majority of their funding has been cut.
He hopes his agony of watching the game will raise enough to pay off the van. If you'd like to help out, you can contact Max at Lura Turner Homes at 602-943-4789.
