2 Burned bodies found inside PV home

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. -- Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies inside a Paradise Valley home Monday.

It all started with a call about a car fire near Seventh Street and Union Hills Drive in North Phoenix. Police learned that the car was registered to an address in the area northeast of Camelback Road and 32nd Street.

When Paradise Valley police arrived at that home, they discovered a small fire inside and immediately called the Phoenix Fire Department.

Once the fire was out, crews found the two bodies -- a man and a woman.

Neighbors told 3TV the victims are Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro, but police have not confirmed that.

While investigators are calling the circumstances suspicious, they have not labeled the deaths homicides at this point.

Investigators have not released the names of the victims, nor have they said how the people died, saying only that the bodies were burned. Detectives also said the victims had suffered injuries unrelated to the fire.

Police were still at the home Tuesday morning.
