TUCSON, Ariz. -- Firefighters say a working sprinkler system and smoke alarms prevented a fire from spreading in a 17-story Tucson apartment building.

It happened at around 12:30 Sunday morning at the Tucson House off Oracle.

Firefighters say the flames broke out in a bathroom on the 13th floor, then smoke quickly spread to floors 11 and 12.

The fire caused about $5,000 in damages.

The man and woman who lived in the unit will be temporarily displaced.
