Senior debates at Tucson's University High SchoolPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The seniors at University High School were in a war of words with each other Wednesday.
Members of the senior class took part in the annual debate. The moderator was TUSD governing board member Miguel Cuevas. The students tackled topics from foreign to domestic policies.
"Each class becomes a political party and then what the class does is they elect their own party leaders and speakers," said Debate Organizer & University High School Teacher Paul Karlowicz.
"It was definitely fun once you're in the moment. Of course there was a lot of hard work, so it was a mix of emotions," said University High School senior Maria Fernanda.
This is the 35th year of the senior debate at University High School.
