MESA, Ariz. -- Things are a lot better for Bill Rouse now, but that was not the case when he was profiled last week on 3 On Your Side.

"Well, since 3 On Your Side stepped in, it's been very smooth," Rouse said.

His issue? Several telephone lines that literally ran across his roof and were even on his property.

"I would really like to see them re-string the wires so they are not dragging on my roof and get down the wires that are laying on the ground out of my yard,” he told 3 On Your Side.

Rouse believed the wiring belonged to CenturyLink so he called them time and time again. After nearly six months of calling, the wires were never removed.

So, 3 On Your Side got involved. Rouse said that's when things started to move.

"Once someone like Gary Harper, like 3 On Your Side, calls, they have a little more clout than I do, apparently,” he explained.

CenturyLink got involved right away and discovered the wiring was not only theirs, but some of them belonged to Cox Communications as well.

Both companies immediately removed the wiring from Rouse's roof and relocated everything, something he said he has been requesting for months.

"I'm very pleased with the results," Rouse said.
CenturyLink apologized for delaying Rouse so long, saying that's not their typical customer service. They say the wiring problem was not theirs to begin with.

Apparently, 60 years ago the previous property owner illegally increased the height of the building, making the roof touch the telephone wires.

Regardless, all the wiring is removed and Rouse said he couldn't be happier:

"If no one else can do it, 3 On Your Side can," he said.

I'm glad we were able to help him out.

He wanted those lines removed because he needs a new roof and roofing contractors wouldn't set foot up there until the wiring was gone.
