TEMPE, Ariz. -- A man was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail after his son nearly drowned in a Tempe motel bathtub last summer.

Jasen Anchondo also received 10 years of probation.

Anchondo and the child's mother, Summer Dawn Angelly, were arrested in August after they put their 11-month-old son in the bathtub and left the water running then went to sleep. The boy's sister found him lying in the tub.

Police said the boy was left in the bathtub because he had soiled his diaper and the couple had run out of clean ones.

Earlier this month, Angelly was sentenced to six months in jail, 10 years' probation and an additional six-month deferred jail time.
