Are bad habits, negative symptoms contagious?Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- We all know that secondhand smoke is dangerous, but what about other secondhand health situations?
According to Dr. Art Mollen, the short answer is yes, some bad habits and negative symptoms are, in a sense, contagious.
"Stress is probably one of the greatest factors that one individual can put onto another," Mollen said. "If you have somebody at work who is overly stressed, that can increase your blood pressure, increase your heart rate and also cause you to become a little bit depressed."
Mollen explained to 3TV's Scott Pasmore on how somebody else's stress, snoring, weight gain, depression, heavy drinking or OCD behavior can affect you so much that you develop similar issues or physiological reactions.
Mollen's practice is located at 16100 N. 71st St. in Scottsdale. For more information, call 480-656-0016 or log onto www.drartmollen.com.
