SAN Tan VALLEY, Ariz. -- A missing San Tan Valley teen has been found safe, although it's not clear where she has been for the past two weeks.

Ashley Davis, 17, vanished on Jan. 11.

According to PCSO spokesman Elias Johnson, Davis showed up at the home of a family she knows in San Tan Valley late Monday night and asked for a place to stay.

That family knew Davis had been missing and contacted PCSO. Detectives are now interviewing the teen. Johnson expected to release more information as it became available.

Davis was last seen walking home from a park in the area of Desert Honeysuckle Drive and Denim Trail (southwest of Bella Vista and Gantzel roads) the evening of Jan. 11. She never showed up at home and investigators said there was nothing to give them any idea what might have happened to her.

Johnson said at the time that there was no indication that Davis had run away.

While some who claim to know Davis said she left voluntarily because she was unhappy at home, the teen's mother was convinced that she had been kidnapped.

It's not yet known where Davis was between Jan. 11 and Monday night.

Johnson said the teen appeared to be good health.
