PHOENIX -- Police are asking for the public’s help to find a driver they believe intentionally hit and killed a man in west Phoenix.

Jose Aguirre Villasana, 29, was found lying in a gravel-filled landscape area off 33rd Avenue near the U.S. 60 just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Phoenix police initially thought Villasana was a victim of a hit-and-run traffic collision, but trauma to the body and evidence around the scene indicated the incident may have been intentional, according to Officer James Holmes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 602-262-6151.
