The shooting took place around 11 P.M. Wednesday night near Speedway and Riverside.
TPD received calls about a man with a gun running around the neighborhood.
Two officers found the suspect who eventually pointed the gun at them. They fired their weapons, killing the man.
"In a situation like this the officers were confronted with a deadly threat it was a threat that put them at immediate risk of serious injury or death, but if they failed to respond immediately to stop that threat then there putting the entire community at risk, this is a residential area," said Sgt. Matt Ronstadt from the Tucson Police Department.
The deceased suspect is described as a 30-year-old man.
