Arizona Center for Innovation celebrates grant scucessPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Wednesday afternoon the Arizona Center for Innovation celebrated the success of a grant awarded to them about two years ago.
In July of 2010 Governor Jan Brewer announced a more than $1 million state grant for the Arizona Center for Innovation.
The money allowed technology commercialization at the UA Tech Center.
"Its fantastic. It was desperately needed. The companies that come in today all the stuff we had to struggle with back years ago they have like a community access to a lot of equipment that we would have to purchase in the past," said Medipacs Founder Mark Banister.
The hope is that more private companies will use the new spaces at the UA Tech Center in the near future.
