House for Hunger Tour hits 4th Ave.Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The sounds of Grammy-nominated DJ remixer and producer Avicii were booming near the hut on 4th Avenue.
The rising Swedish disc jockey came to Tucson as part of his "House for Hunger Tour" making its way across the country.
His crew plans to donate $1 million of tour proceeds to help fill food banks across the country.
"You would think that United States is the land of prosperity, that we don't have hungry people here, that's, you know, in Third World countries. So, it's great that an artist like Avicii took it upon himself to give that exposure to the problem that most people don't know about here in the states," said event organizer Adam Richmond.
The tour kicked off last week and runs until the end of the month.
Some of the money raised will go to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
