PHOENIX -- Did you find yourself inspired by the recent Rock 'n' Roll Marathon? Think running a marathon might be something you want to try? If you don't think you're up to 26.2 miles, there are plenty 5K events in the Valley.
As Dr. Art Mollen explained, now is the time to start training. He offered five basic tips to help you get started.
1. Map a 1-mile course.
2. Jog between telephone poles.
3. Add 1 mile every month.
4. Make sure you can carry on a conversation while running.
5. Stretch before and after your run.
