MLK Day forecastPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- It was a cloudy and showery start to the holiday in Arizona. Although rain totals were light in the Valley, snow showers were more numerous in the high country of Northern and Eastern Arizona.
Although snow had been falling off and on through the night, most locations, including Flagstaff and Show Low saw only about an inch of snow. They could see more snow today, along with strong winds, which prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory. The advisory goes until Noon for western portions of the Rim, including Flagstaff, and until 6 p.m. for eastern portions of the Rim and the White Mountains, including Show Low.
There is a slight chance of a sprinkle or light shower in the Valley during the morning hours only. This afternoon, expect partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the mid 60s.
The rest of the week ahead looks warmer and drier, with pleasant weather through at least Saturday.
