Guns stolen from pawn shop; $15K reward offeredPosted: Updated:
SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. -- A $15,000 reward is being offered for help tracking down at least three suspects who stole about 50 guns from a San Tan Valley pawn shop.
Pinal County Sheriff's Office detectives were called to Perfect Pawn and Jewelry on Thursday after employees noticed someone had broken into a back storage room.
Surveillance video showed at least two suspects stealing a large amount of firearms at 1:52 a.m., according to sheriff's office spokesman Elias Johnson. The video also showed a second theft involving one suspect at 7:27 a.m. when more guns were taken.
It's unknown if the two thefts are related.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and conviction of those involved. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has matched the $5,000 reward offered by the ATF to track down the suspects. The pawn shop owner has also put up $5,000 in reward money.
"Anytime that firearms are out on the street in the hands of prohibited individuals that causes great concern for us," said ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Wayne Dixie.
Anyone with information about the burglary or the location of the stolen firearms is asked to call the Pinal County Sheriff's Office at 520-866-5116.
