1)    Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue: The Phoenix Symphony continues their 2011/2012 APS Pops Series with one of the most popular American concert works, George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, performed with other Gershwin classics and with special guest pianist Gabriela Montero, January 6-8; Saturday, January 7 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 8 at 2:00 p.m. Gabriela Montero is world-renowned for her visionary interpretations and improvisational skills.

2)    My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m in Therapy!: Get ready for a hilarious one-man comedy starring Ron Tobin, for 5-weeks at the Herberger Theater Center, January 18-Feburary 19, Wednesday 2:00 & 7:00 p.m., Thursday 7:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 p.m., and Saturday 2:00 p.m. You don’t have to be Italian or Jewish to enjoy this show – all you need is to know what it feels like to leave a family dinner with heartburn and a headache!    

3)    Love, Loss and What I Wore: Don’t miss Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ great show that is always in fashion, open through January 8. Remaining show times are Saturday, January 7 at 2:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 8 at 2:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. Based on the best-seller by Ilene Beckerman. 

4)    The Marvelous Wonderettes: Phoenix Theatre takes you back to a 1958 prom, in this non-stop music “blast from the past,” open January 11-Feburary 5.
