NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say they've seized more than 1,900 rounds of ammunition at the Dennis DeConcini Port near Nogales.
Officers assigned to routine outbound inspections referred a 26-year-old Mexican woman for a secondary inspection of her truck Thursday before she entered Mexico.
During the inspection, officers discovered a duffel bag in the cargo area filled with assorted ammunition ranging in size from 9 mm to .223 Remington calibers.
The ammunition and vehicle were processed for seizure. The woman was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. Her name hasn't been released.
