Supporters gather to condemn ruling against Ethnic StudiesPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Former students, administrators, and teachers in TUSD's Ethnic Studies program are objecting to last month's ruling that the program is in violation of a recently passed state law.
The group met in front of TUSD headquarters to condemn the ruling by an Arizona judge on December 27.
The ruling was that the program was not in compliance with HB 2281, a law passed in 2010 banning Ethnic Studies courses.
Supporters of the program are fighting back.
The group is planning to voice their objections at the next TUSD board meeting on Tuesday.
