Pima County Sheriff's deputies injured in traffic stopPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A traffic stop on the south side goes horribly wrong, leaving two Pima County Sheriff's deputies injured.
Investigators say, around 9:30 A.M. two motorcycle deputies pulled over two separate cars near Palo Verde Road and 36th Street. Just as the deputies were getting off their bikes, one of the drivers used his car to hit the bikes and the deputies.
Deputies Alvaro Arizpuru and Guy Quaintance were sent to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.
"There was some concern with the second vehicle that vehicle basically decided he was going to leave the scene and saw both officers in front of him he rammed both of them intentionally," said Dawn Barkman from the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies found the suspect's vehicle and are now processing the car to learn more about the suspect.
No arrests have been made.
