PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are investigating the apparent homicide of a 76-year-old man in South Phoenix. Investigators said the man suffered obvious signs of trauma but aren't saying how he died.
Albert Moore was found dead Monday by relatives who went to his home near 27th Street and Broadway Road to check on him after he did not answer the phone.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry to the home and believe the suspect was known to Moore.
They are not sure when Moore died, but Moore's grandson, Trebor Moore, told 3TV he last spoke with his grandfather on Sunday morning.
"Whoever did it they need to meet their maker eventually," he said.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
"The victim in this case is well known in the neighborhood, he's active in the neighborhood over there, we need anyone with information on what happened to him to come forward," said Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump.
