Tucson traffic: Woman pulled from burning car; Truck, SUV collision

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Firefighters pulled a woman from a burning car when it caught fire after a traffic accident.

It happened last night at Fort Lowell Road and Mountain Avenue.

One crew worked to put out the fire while another got the woman out safely using the jaws of life.

She was hospitalized with serious injuries but is expected to recover.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A pick up truck nearly slammed into a wall after a collision at Grant and Palo Verde.

An elderly woman heading south on Palo Verde ran a stop sign and was struck by the truck, which then careened off the road.

The woman's SUV spun around and hit a City of Tucson recycle truck before coming to a stop.

She was cited for a traffic violation and taken to the hospital for a precautionary exam.
