Kingman woman shoots teen who beat her, boyfriend with batsPosted: Updated:
KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- Kingman police say a 19-year-old woman shot and wounded a 15-year-old boy who broke into her home with another man and began beating her and her boyfriend with baseball bats.
Police Capt. Rusty Cooper tells the Kingman Daily Miner (http://bit.ly/upnuTi ) on Tuesday that the teen and another man wearing masks kicked in the front door of the woman's home on Sunday night.
They began beating her and her 28-year-old boyfriend with bats before she was able to retrieve a shotgun and began swinging it at the assailants.
The gun fired and hit the 15-year-old, who is now hospitalized. Her boyfriend was hit with birdshot and also had to be treated.
The second assailant fled and hasn't been found.
An infant in the home was not hurt.
Cooper says the attack could stem from a hit-and-run killing from last month, but did not say why.
