Sgt. Norm Owens said a maintenance worker at Kingswood Elementary School, 15150 W. Mondell Road, called police on Dec. 5 after noticing that two trees on the playground had been cut down.

The worker said the trees were last seen standing on Dec. 2.

The replacement value of each tree was estimated to be approximately $3,000.

The witness called police again after finding another tree had been cut down sometime between Dec. 10 and Dec. 12.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with additional information to call 623-222-4000.
