Another storm for the weekendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Another winter storm is targeting Arizona this weekend, but it doesn't look nearly as strong as the soaker we saw earlier this week.
The low-pressure system is off the coast of Southern California today, and is forecast to be stationary today and tomorrow, before moving east through Arizona Saturday night and Sunday.
Ahead of the storm, clouds were moving into the state Friday morning, along with some strong winds. Breezy conditions should persist in the Valley today, with stronger winds forecast for Western and Northern Arizona.
A lake wind advisory is in effect for portions of Western Arizona, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Rain and snow become likely Saturday night and especially Sunday across the state, with snow levels dropping to about 5,000 feet.
The storm exits the state Monday, with drier weather expected next week.
