GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- A Goodyear teacher was arrested on charges of sexual conduct with a minor.

Brian Bizzell, 35, is a band, choir and drama teacher at Estrella Foothills High School. He was arrested after a female student said she had numerous sexual encounters with him.

Goodyear police were told Tuesday that a student at the school found a cellphone in a classroom and, while viewing the phone's content in an attempt to identify the owner, came across sexually explicit text messages between Bizzell and a female student.

During an interview, the 17-year-old girl disclosed sexual encounters with Bizzell during school hours on school property as well as incidents away from school, according to police. The student also admitted sending and receiving numerous sexually explicit messages via text message and Skype.

Police seized several items of evidence from Bizzell's apartment where he lives with his wife.

Bizzell was arrested without incident and booked into the Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail on counts of sexual conduct with a minor, luring a minor for sexual exploitation and aggravated luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
