Police release photos of suspect in Walgreens robbery

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Glendale Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying an armed robbery suspect.

Police said the suspect entered the Walgreens at 55th Avenue and Thunderbird Road at about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 27.

The suspect selected an item and acted as if he was going to purchase it, according to Sgt. Brent Coombs. When the cashier began to help him, he produced a black semi-automatic pistol and demanded money.

The suspect left the store on foot. No vehicle was seen.

The suspect is described as a white male with a muscular build, in his 40s, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 250 pounds with a mustache. He was wearing a red baseball cap, black pants and a gray sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.

Investigators have released photos of the suspect in the hopes that someone will be able to identify him.
