Fiesta de Guadalupe celebration in TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Hundreds gathered on the north side Sunday for the Fiesta de Guadalupe.
The annual event featured food, music and art to honor Mexico's patron saint.
Our Lady Guadalupe describes a man who was visited by the saint and told to build a church, but a priest originally didn't believe the man had a real encounter, so he set out to prove it.
"He re-approached the priest and he had in his skirt the roses of summer and this was winter time so the priest believed him and they went ahead and built this church," said Lance Laber from the De Grazia Foundation.
The celebration was hosted by the De Grazia Foundation.
