2 Wounded in late-night stabbing

PHOENIX -- Police are investigating two separate scenes after a double stabbing in near the Phoenix-Laveen city lines late Sunday night.

Investigators said it happened shortly after 11 p.m. near 49th and Southern avenues, which is southeast of 41st and Southern avenues.

The suspect left the scene, but did not get very far. That person crashed his car near 44th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, which is about five minutes from the scene of the stabbings.

Investigators have not released any details about the incident, but there are unconfirmed reports that a police dog bit the suspect.

There is no word on the conditions of the victims, whether they knew the suspect or what led up to the stabbings.
