Wildcats suspend freshman guard Josiah TurnerPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- University of Arizona freshman guard Josiah Turner has been suspended for Wednesday night's game at 12th-ranked Florida due to violations of team policy.
Wildcats coach Sean Miller made the announcement Tuesday night but didn't disclose the violations.
However, the Arizona Daily Star reported that the discipline revolved around Turner's participation in practices. The newspaper also reported that Turner was taken out of the starting lineup before the Nov. 9 game against Duquesne after he was late to the pregame shootaround.
Turner didn't travel with the Wildcats to Gainesville, Fla. Miller says he'll meet with Turner after the team returns to Tucson "to discuss what his obligations to this program are moving forward."
Turner, from Sacramento, Calif., has appeared in seven games this season for the Wildcats (6-2).
