More appeals from Loughner defensePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The lawyers for Tucson mass shooting suspect Jared Loughner filed two appeals in court Monday.
The first argues Loughner should have been afforded a "post deprivation" hearing in open court because he had been deprived of certain rights.
The second appeal, whether the hearing must be held by a court of law and include certain procedural safeguards.
Loughner has pleaded not guilty to 40 charges in the January 8 shooting.
