Chilly temperatures continuePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- It was another cold start for Arizona Tuesday as our latest storm system moves out.
Monday's rain and snow is far east of us, but a colder and drier air mass is moving in. Under clear skies, overnight lows dipped to the single digits in parts of the high country, including Flagstaff and Show Low. In the Valley, temperatures dropped to the low to mid 30s, although there were a few outlying spots, including Surprise, that bottomed out in the upper 20s.
Tuesday afternoon won't bring much warmer weather than yesterday, with Valley highs forecast to top out in the mid 50s under sunny skies.
A ridge of high pressure is forecast to build over our region over the next couple of days, eventually bringing afternoon temperatures back into the mid 60s and overnight lows into the 40s.
No storms are forecast for the next week.
