Mayo Clinic Diet -- Featured on PBS
A 60-minute program featuring The Mayo Clinic Diet is part of special programming that will premiere on PBS stations beginning Dec. 3 (check local listings http://www.pbs.org/tv_schedules). In Arizona, the program is scheduled to run in the Phoenix area on KAET Channel 8 and in Tucson on KUAT Channel 6.

Several community organizations have teamed up for a gun buyback event designed to bring attention to gun safety issues and allow citizens to turn in firearms for a reward. Weapons such as handguns, rifles or shotguns that are operational will be exchanged for a $50 gift card to a local retailer. The buyback is an anonymous, no-questions-asked event taking place Saturday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

APS Fiesta of Light Electric Light Parade

Dozens of entries with hundreds of thousands of lights will brighten the streets of central Phoenix Dec. 3 when the APS Fiesta of Light Electric Light Parade returns for the 25th straight year. Entries for the 2011 parade will be interpreting the theme "Silver Bells: 25 Years of Tradition." The parade gets under way at 7 p.m. on Central Avenue at Montebello (just south of Bethany Home Road), heads south on Camelback Road, where it turns east to 7th Street where it turns south and ends at Indian School Road. Parade of Lights
